A New Paradigm of Learning
Synthesis of Rigour and Freedom
Inspired by the innovation of Moonshot Academy the learner-centric trust of Naomi Aldort, we have reimagined the Sixth Form experience. We believe that when a student is treated with unconditional respect and given the agency to lead their own studies, "academic excellence" becomes a natural byproduct, not a forced outcome.
Naomi Aldort:
"Success is not the result of pressure, but the natural expression of a mind that feels safe to explore."
Have questions about our approach? Let’s start the conversation.
Three Pillars of White Oak Sixth Form College
Self-Directed Agency: Students are encouraged to find their internal 'why,' creating a foundation for lifelong learning.
University- style Inquiry: Alongside A Levels, students are invited to explore interdisciplinary questions —applying physics to sustainability or psychology to social innovation.
Authentic Mentorship: Our mentors and subject specialist tutors do not 'manage' students; they facilitate. We focus on emotional safety and intellectual bravery, ensuring students thrive through motivation and curiosity.
From A Levels to Real World Impact:
While A Levels provide the intellectual tools, the White Oak Thesis provides the purpose. Inspired by the innovative spirit of Moonshot Academy, every White Oak student is invited to undertake a self-directed inquiry a complex, global challenge that requires boxless thinking.
How it Works:
Identify Your 'Why' Working with your mentor, you select a field of inquiry—from the Ethics of AI to Sustainable Urbanism or the Future of Mental Health.
Interdisciplinary Research You apply the rigor of your A-Level subjects (e.g., Physics, Economics, or Psychology) to a self-directed inquiry beyond the syllabus.
The Outcome The White Oak inquiry project exeeds grade based learning, students have the opportunity to produce a "Portfolio of Impact" a thesis, a prototype, or a campaign that proves your ability to think as a global citizen, fostering the skills required for university and career readiness.
The Goal We aim to cultivate the “Self-Determined Learner.” By the time students reach university, they will possess not only the discipline to excel in examinations, but also the ability to identify problems, research solutions, and lead projects with intellectual confidence.

Aspire Boldly. Achieve Greatness. Succeed with Integrity.
At White Oak International Sixth Form College, education is guided by a clear academic philosophy: students achieve their greatest success when they are challenged intellectually, supported personally, and encouraged to think independently.
Our teaching environment is built on small academic cohorts, discussion-based learning, and close mentorship. This allows teachers to engage deeply with each students' development, encouraging curiosity, analytical thinking, and genuine understanding of each subject.
We believe that sixth form education should go beyond examination preparation. It should cultivate the intellectual habits that define successful university students: independent thought, disciplined study, intellectual curiosity, and academic resilience.
Through rigorous teaching, structured academic guidance, and meaningful mentorship, White Oak provides an environment where students can grow both academically and personally.
Students graduate not only with strong qualifications, but with the confidence, maturity, and intellectual independence required to thrive at leading universities (e.g., LSE, UCL, Oxford, LMU Munich, TUM, Heidelberg Uni, Fudan University, Yale University, HKU, University of Tokyo) and in the wider world.
