University Pathways - What Sets White Oak Apart
The Only Online Sixth Form with a Dedicated German University Pathway
Germany is home to 12 universities in the global top #200 — including TU Munich, LMU Munich, and Heidelberg, which all rank in the Top #100 Universities worldwide.
Most German public universities charge no tuition fees: only administrative costs of approximately €450–€700 per year.
White Oak is the only online Sixth Form offering a structured, expert-led two-year preparation programme specifically designed for German university admission, covering direct entry, Studienkolleg preparation, German language progression from A1 to C1, and full application support.
The total cost of a German bachelor's degree is less than one year of UK undergraduate tuition. Your child can graduate from a world-ranked institution debt-free.

Micro Classes, Macro Learning
Learning in a Micro Class of Maximum 8 Students
In a class of 25, a student can remain invisible for an entire term. They can absorb information without ever having to produce it, respond to it, or defend it. They leave the lesson without anyone knowing whether they understood.
At White Oak, that is not possible.
In a seminar of no more than 8 students, every mind in the room is engaged. Your child will be asked to articulate an argument, respond to a peer's reasoning, and think under the pressure of a genuine academic discussion. This is not a teaching style preference, it is the environment in which serious thinking is actually developed.
Our live seminars run for two 55 minute sessions per subject per week in a university-style lecture and discussion format. Before the academic work begins, students are prepared to engage with passion, because the state a student is in when they learn is as important as what they learn. They get fully prepared for the examinations, working closely with the markscheme. A study of AS and A2 requires more than just passive learning, particularly when considering the Assessment Objectives (AOs), the exam board requires students to apply their knowledge to different scenarios and conduct a thorough analysis and evaluations, pacticulalry in subjects like Psychology and Economics.

Our Academic Principle
Aspire+Achieve=
Succeed
Aspire Intellectual Agency: Every student arrives with a subject that interests them genuinely. We start there. White Oak seminars are designed to move students from passive recipients of a curriculum to active thinkers who can frame a question, defend a position, and follow an argument wherever it leads.
We ask students to understand not just what the answer is, but why it is the answer, and whether they agree.
That habit of mind is what university tutors are looking for, and what examiners at A Level reward.
Achieve Academic Mastery and Examination Excellence: Mastery at A-Level requires two things working together: genuine subject understanding and precision in examination performance. White Oak teaches both — and does not treat them as opposites.
Our teachers work directly from the Pearson Edexcel specification and mark schemes. Your child will learn to read an examination question as an examiner reads it: to identify the command word, understand what the mark allocation signals, and construct a response that earns the highest band. Every piece of assessed work is reviewed against the mark scheme and discussed in detail.
This is not teaching to the test. It is the development of disciplined, examiner-aware academic writing — a skill that serves students far beyond the examination hall.
Succeed in University Readiness: A student who leaves White Oak is ready for university — not just in grades, but in academic character. They have learned to manage independent study, to contribute in seminar discussion, to produce written work under pressure, and to pursue a subject with genuine intellectual curiosity.
Whether your child's path leads to a Russell Group university in the UK, a tuition-free research university in Germany, or a leading institution in Asia, White Oak prepares them for what those universities actually demand: a student who can think, write, and sustain intellectual effort over time.
Four University Pathways. One Specialist Sixth Form.
Global Destinations
White Oak is structured around three distinct university destinations. Each pathway receives dedicated preparation, not as an add-on, but as a core part of what your child studies, from the first day they step into White Oak onwards.
UK Universities
UCAS, Russell Group and Leading British Institutions
At White Oak, students are prepared not only for outstanding A Level results, but for successful admission to leading UK universities. Through expert academic mentorship, strategic UCAS guidance, and interview preparation, we help students develop the intellectual profile sought by selective institutions such as University of Edinburgh, King's College London, Durham University, University of Bristol, University of Manchester, and other leading Russell Group universities.
German Universities
Tuition-Free. Internationally Respected. Globally Oriented.
White Oak’s German University Pathway offers a distinctive route towards Germany’s leading universities, combining rigorous A Level preparation with advanced German language development and personalised admissions guidance. Over two years, students build the academic foundation, linguistic fluency, and application portfolio required for direct university entry or Studienkolleg preparation. Target institutions include Technical University of Munich, Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Heidelberg University, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, RWTH Aachen University, and University of Mannheim.
European & Asian Universities
Broadening the Horizons of International Higher Education
At White Oak, students are encouraged to explore exceptional university opportunities across Europe and Asia. Through personalised guidance and internationally recognised A Level qualifications, we support applications to leading institutions in the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Scandinavia, as well as highly selective universities across Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China, helping students pursue an internationally minded academic future.
Beyond the Specification
White Oak Enrichment
Purposefully Designed
At White Oak, enrichment is designed to complement academic study, allowing students to develop the confidence, articulation, leadership, and intellectual curiosity that strengthen both university applications and future ambitions. Alongside rigorous A Level preparation, students are encouraged to engage deeply with the wider world through opportunities such as Model United Nations, Debate and Public Speaking, as well as our special programmes, including White Oak Preparatory Programme for pre-Sixth Form students, and our Summer Mastery Programme for current and prospective Y12-Y13 students.
